My Story
Hi!
My name is Priscilla and more than eight years ago, I arrived in Germany with hope and no one to call. Two overweight suitcases, a plan, and the kind of courage that feels brave right up until the moment the plane lands and the silence hits you.
Nobody tells you about that silence.
The kind where you smile through hard days because there is no one to be honest with. The kind where you are doing everything right on the outside while everything on the inside is quietly whispering: I just need somewhere to land.
Then a stranger stopped. Just one human being choosing to see another. It changed everything. It reminded me that I was not invisible, that kindness still existed, and that belonging was possible even here.
I won’t pretend I have everything figured out. I am still finding my way, still trusting God with the parts I cannot control, still believing He is not finished with this story yet.
But I know what it feels like to need a table and not have one. And the kindness that stranger showed me was too good to keep to myself.
So I built the table I once needed.
Selah First is not a finished story. It is an act of faith. A space to pause, pray, worship, share meals and find a sense of belonging.
Whether you are strong in your faith, curious about God, new to the city or simply looking for community, there is a seat here for you.

FAQ
What exactly is Selah First?
Selah First is a community space where people come to pause, share a meal, pray, worship and find genuine belonging. It was born out of one woman’s experience in Germany and a stranger’s act of kindness that changed everything.
What does Selah First mean?
Selah is a Hebrew word meaning pause, rest and reflect. First means we put that pause before everything else. Before the noise, the busyness and the overwhelm. Selah First is the reminder that stillness comes before everything.
Who is Selah First for?
Everyone. Whether you are strong in your faith, curious about God, new to the city, or simply looking for a place to belong. You do not need to be religious, perfect or put together to be welcome here.
Is Selah First a church?
No. We are a community. Faith is our foundation but we are not a church service. Think of us as a warm table where people gather, eat, pray and connect.
Is there a membership fee?
No. Selah First is and will always be completely free. Belonging should never have a price tag. You can however support us with money to prepare the food for the gathering or by bringing food.

You’re early. Selah First is just beginning, which means the people who join now help shape what it becomes. The first gatherings are being planned together with this first circle: when we meet, what an evening feels like, what we need from a space like this.
